Meet Richard Melo
Richard Melo is a American pianist from Arcadia, CA. Having been born with autism, Melo found music as his gift to carry through his life. He has the honor of working with amazing teachers like Jo Shannon, Andreas Werz, Peter Klimo and David Joyce. Along the way, he has performed on both the local and international stages while developing his skills. Melo would go on to get a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music at Fresno State University, and is currently finishing up on an Occupational Job Certificate in Commercial Music at Pasadena City College.
Melo works with Covina High School’s music program where he accompanies the school choir and theater program with a versatile repertoire. In his spare time, he is an emerging singer-songwriter. His style has influences from world renowned artists like Billy Joel, Elton John, John Legend and Ed Sheeran. The dream of success burns within him, as Melo looks to earn respect from his colleagues and ultimately achieve musical excellence.
